Sean Edward Knubbert

April 3, 1971 ~ August 29, 2026 

Sean Edward Knubbert, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Born on April 3, 1971, in Staten Island, New York, Sean brought light and laughter to those around him throughout his 55 years of life.

Sean was the beloved son of John Knubbert and Maureen (Harty) Knubbert, both of whom predeceased him, along with his brother Scott Knubbert. He is survived by his devoted sister, Tara Knubbert-Miller, who cherished their shared love of music and countless memories. Sean also leaves behind his adored nieces, Arianna Knubbert, Cassidy Miller, Maeve Miller, and his nephew, John Miller, who will forever remember him as a fun-loving and caring uncle.

A proud graduate of Susan E. Wagner High School, Sean built a successful career at the Bank of New York, where he began as a LAN Administrator and rose to the position of Vice President. His dedication and expertise were matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and family, often displaying his handyman skills through private contracting and personal projects.

Sean’s life was filled with the joy of simple pleasures. He found solace and excitement in fishing, spending many hours by the water. A music enthusiast, Sean often filled his home with the sounds of The Grateful Dead and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others. Music was a shared passion with his sister Tara, which brought them even closer together. Sean was also an avid sport’s fan cheering on the NY Giants, Ohio State Buckeyes, the NY Rangers, and his beloved Mets.

Known for his quick wit and inimitable sense of humor, Sean had a knack for connecting with people from all walks of life, much like his father. He was a storyteller at heart, often leaving those around him with a smile or a hearty laugh. His presence was truly unforgettable, lighting up any room he entered.

A Mass to celebrate Sean’s life will be held on October 12, 2026, at 10:45, at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church, located at 1634 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10314. The family warmly invites all who knew Sean to join in honoring his memory and cherishing the moments shared with him. Your presence would mean a great deal, and the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for being a part of his journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests considering a donation in Sean’s memory to a charity of your choice, as he believed in giving back and supporting those in need.
