Edward B. Pedersen

June 5, 1934 ~ April 21, 2026

Edward B. Pedersen, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of Jennie T. Pedersen, his devoted partner of 66 years.

A native Staten Islander, Edward spent his summers at the Jersey Shore, where he found great joy in boating, fishing, clamming, and crabbing. He loved days at the beach surrounded by his family and cherished traveling alongside his wife and lifelong friends.

Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army, and his love for America and deep sense of patriotism remained with him throughout his life. He was immensely proud of his service, and that pride shaped his lasting commitment to his country, his community, and his fellow veterans. He dedicated 40 years of his career to AT&T, where he built a long and distinguished tenure in telecommunications. Alongside his work at AT&T, he also worked for J.S. Paluch, delivering church bulletins throughout the tri-state area. After retiring from AT&T, he continued to stay active by driving a school bus for Pioneer Bus Service.

A man of faith and service, Edward was a faithful and active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church for 65 years and a proud member of the Holy Name Society. He was also an active member of the Blessed Sacrament Titan League and generously volunteered his time working with children with special needs, a cause that was close to his heart. He was also a former Commander and devoted member of the Cichon Post of the American Legion in Staten Island, where his commitment to his fellow veterans and community ran deep.

Beyond his family and parish, Edward was a wonderful neighbor — the kind of man who was always ready with a warm greeting, a helping hand, or a friendly conversation. His kindness, generosity, and genuine care for those around him made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all, Edward cherished his family. He was the loving father of six children: Edward Pedersen, Kevin Pedersen, Cheryl Riley, Gary Pedersen, Mary Lazzara, and Janine Pedersen. He was a proud grandfather and loved them very much.

Edward was preceded in death by his dear sisters, Ruth Stoutland and Joan Edgin, who were a treasured part of his life. Along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Cherubini-McInerney Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:00 AM.
