Donald D. Carullo

April 26, 1939 ~ June 21, 2026

Donald D. Carullo passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Don proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked for the B&O Railroad for 20 years. He also shared his passion for cooking as a chef at Pal Joey’s and Camelot.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lydia Carullo (née Grym); his loving children, Robert Carullo, Donna Carullo Birkbeck and Matt Birkbeck, Edward Carullo, Michael Dascher; and was predeceased by his son, Dominick “Dee” Carullo.

Don was the cherished grandfather of Matthew Birkbeck Jr, Tyler Carullo, Christopher Birkbeck, Cecelia Carullo Fox, Donald Dascher, Joseph Dascher, Cameron Carullo, and Neal Dascher. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was the dear brother of Nancy Gardella and Sister Carol Carullo.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, June 24, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25 at 10:30am, at Holy Family Church, followed by a private cremation.

Don will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
