Mary Kenny, a lifelong Staten Islander, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 12, 2021, at the age of 84.  She was born March 15th, 1936, to the late Daniel and Tonwen Boyle, in Staten Island.  Mary was the beloved wife of Robert Kenny for 62 years.  She is survived by her husband, Bob, daughters Christine Lauria, Jeannine Harder, and Kathleen Kenny, special son Kevin Krause, twenty-one grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  Her children Linda Krause, Danny Kenny, and Bobby Kenny predeceased Mary.

A graduate of Curtis High School, she worked as the parish cook for Our Lady of Good Council Church, and the St. Augustine Retreat Center for 33 years.   Mary enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family and the little ones held a special place in her heart.   Mary cooked large meals for all occasions and everyone was welcome to enjoy a meal or share a laugh. Mary never turned away an animal.  She loved all the animals her children brought home over the years including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and birds.  A woman of deep faith, Mary was always willing to lend a helping hand, and would often be heard reminding others “God is good”.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
