In Loving Memory of Sara (Sadie) Avenoso
October 4, 1923 – September 17, 2025

Sara “Sadie” Avenoso, aged 101, passed away peacefully in her home on September 17, 2025. Sadie was many things, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a proud alumnus of Curtis High school and a native Staten Islander.

Sadie was the loving wife of the late Mario Avenoso, proud mother of Mario F. (Barbara) Avenoso and Teresa M. Avenoso (and the late John Sardina), and the cherished grandmother of Mario R., Danielle, and Robin. Known for her warm heart and vibrant spirit, she was a constant source of wisdom and joy to all who knew her.

Her stories were a window into her rich experiences, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved to be in the kitchen, she was best known for her Cream puffs and Rice patties. Sadie also passed the time with needle point, creating many lovely pieces for her family and friends.

A heartfelt thank you to Sal, Cyndye, Chris and Sal Tirone, Nancy Fama, and Chalmes Clark, who were always there for her. She will be missed dearly by both family and friends, far too many to name.
