Felix George Garriga Jr, 67, of Staten Island, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Manhattan due to complications following surgery for cancer.
Born on February 19, 1958, in Manhattan, Felix lived life with warmth, strength, and humor. He moved to Staten Island 34 years ago, where he built a life centered around family, community, and hard work.
Felix proudly served the city as a police officer, later working as a dispatcher for a private security company, and eventually as an MTA bus operator. His strong work ethic and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A diehard Mets fan, Felix loved watching baseball, football, and anything sports-related. He was also an accomplished paddleball player, winning many tournaments over the years. He and his wife shared a love of travel, enjoying countless cruises together.
Felix was married to the love of his life, Lillian, for 40 years. Their story began on the D train and grew into a beautiful family. He is survived by his beloved wife Lillian; his daughters Cynthia, Jackie, and Stephanie; and his cherished grandchildren Corey, McKenzie, Jeremiah, Abby, Jayden, Jayce, and Josie. He was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Jorgé.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home.
Felix will be remembered for his loyalty, sense of humor, deep love for his family, and the passion he brought to everything he did.
