Claude Gervais, age 82, passed away on January 8, 2022 at home. He was born on August 23, 1939 in Montreal, Canada, son of Rollande & Stanley, brother of Gil and Serge, cousin of Yves. His family moved to New York City in 1950. He was a devoted husband to Dolly for 61 years. They moved to the forever home in Grasmere in 1973. He was a loving father to Lisa, father-in-law to Craig and proud Papa Hon to Alexa & Jack. He was a caring uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He worked for York International as a pipe fitter for many years. The last 20 years of his career, he was responsible for the air conditioning at the World Trade Center and was lucky enough to escape harm during the 1993 bombing and retired on September 1, 2001, days before the 9/11 attacks.
He loved fixing and repairing things around the house and anything with an engine. He liked going for walks on the boardwalk, playing the stock market, shopping at Home Depot, buying tools, gadgets and electronics. He enjoyed eating a good meal, fishing and keeping busy. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, taking his grandchildren to school and cheering them on at their many sporting events.
He will be missed.
