Catherine M. Sterner
Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother
Catherine M. Sterner nee (Miraldi) passed away on September 29, 2018 at Richmond University Medical Center at the age of 95 surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Staten Island, Catherine graduated from Port Richmond High School and worked as a Secretary for Avon and then for American Express in Manhattan.
In her spare time, Catherine would take trips to Atlantic City and go on cruises to the Caribbean. She also enjoyed being on the bowling league but Catherine’s true enjoyment was spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, James K. Sterner who sadly passed away in 2017.
Catherine is survived by her loving sons, James K. (Denise) Sterner, III and Jeffrey L. (Noreen) Sterner. Also she has 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Chrystal, Candice and Jamie along with 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Avenue on Sunday at 4pm followed by a private cremation. Family and friends are welcome for viewing on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 1-5pm.
