Amelia Teodomira Caceres was surrounded by her loved ones when she went to be with the Lord peacefully on October 26th, 2024 in her home on Staten Island, New York.

Amelia Caceres was born in Lima, Peru on September 15th, 1932 to Juan Colonio and Teodora Gonzáles de Colonio.  Amelia married Jose Caceres on May 19th, 1951 and they were happily married for 68 years. Amelia and José Caceres have four dear children, Freddy, Jose, Ida and July.

Amelia Caceres loved take care of her husband and her home. But most of all she loved to spend time and take care of her grandchildren Monica, Jefferson, Estefanie, Kathy, Joshua, Kevin and Adrian. And her great grandchildren Karen, Juan, Jessica, Lorenzo, Antonella, Aurelio,  Emiliano, Thiago and su mascota Daisy.

Amelia was very loved by her entire family.  Aside from taking care of her home wherever she was she projected to her family with that sense of home and feeling welcomed. We were also blessed with her cooking and delicious recetas. From her famous Mazamorra Morada, Estofado de Pollo, Tallarín Saltado, to her famous Arroz con Carne. She always pendiente de su familia asking God for protection, and for his plans and purposes would be met and fulfilled in all of their lives.

It was a gift, privilege and blessing to have Amelia Caceres in our lives. It’s sad but now we must celebrate because now she is with the one who satisfies her soul. She is with her peace, her Father, and most of all her creator.
