Thomas J. Andreano (Tom), a devoted husband of 62 years died peacefully in his home, on February 22, 2025. He was 86 years old.
A lifelong resident of Staten Island, Tom was born in the West Brighton neighborhood on July 13, 1938. He was the youngest of 10 children, a son to Vincent and Alba Marie Andreano. He met the love of his life in Marie LoCasto and married her in 1962. Along with Marie he raised three children and was a doting grandfather to four. Tom graduated from Curtis High School and was a dedicated firefighter with the FDNY for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He loved to tell stories of working with his brother Pat at Ladder 5 in Greenwich Village and running with the companies of the 21st Battalion as a chauffeur for Ladder 77.
Tom was an avid golfer and a member of the Fairway Club at Latourette Golf Course. He loved music, particularly jazz, and shared recordings of his daughters’ and grandchildren’s performances with anyone willing to listen. He completed multiple crosswords daily and loved to read history, especially of his native New York City.
He was a man of great faith and worshipped at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament for over 50 years. He renewed his marital vows in 2022 after celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary. Aside from his faith, he donated to many charities, particularly St. Jude’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, and The Tunnel to Towers Foundation. He was fiercely proud of his Italian roots but welcomed people of all faiths and backgrounds, and loved to listen to the immigrant stories of those he met.
Tom is survived by his wife, children Christina (Tom), Donna (Doug), and Joseph (Maria) and grandchildren Stephen, Andrew, Amelia, and Charlotte.

Thomas or as he was known Tommy A, was a member of the fairway golf club. He always made me feel welcome and we had a lot of fun playing golf together. He will be missed.
