Following active service in the U.S. Army from July 1961 to August 1962, he attended Brooklyn College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business management from Fordham University. It was at Fordham that he met his wife Helen (nee Kent) of Brooklyn, who worked in the Registrar’s Office. They married in 1967 and had two sons, Shawn, of Toms River, NJ, and Brian, of Matamoras, PA.
Ronald had a long and successful career at then Chase Manhattan Bank from 1967 until 2002 when it became JPMorgan Chase, retiring as a Vice President in the Corporate Trust Group. His wife passed away on December 14, 2018, after a long illness. In addition to his sons, Ronald is survived by his grandchildren – Jeannamarie, Paul and Julianna, and two brothers-in-law, William T. A parishioner of St Peters R.C. in New Brighton since 1969, Ronald was greatly involved with his sons’ youth sports programs for St Peters Elementary School from the mid 70’s until the early 80’s, also coaching his son’s CYO basketball teams. He also coached Snug Harbor Little League from 1979-1984 when his sons played there, having won the Minor Division Championship in 1982
He served on the Skyline Terrace Co-op board as the building Treasurer for several years
An avid walker, he toured a great many sites and museums around the city after retirement.
He was an avid fan of the classic movies of Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, and James Cagney, an avocation he passed that onto his younger son.
“He was a generous person who would help those in need and was a man of strong Catholic faith and beliefs,” Brian said.

Hi Mike, Brian . Yes so many great memories from St Peter’s and the old neighborhood. Dad would always mention the pickup softball in the schoolyard. I remember the time we went to Shea in Larry Rodgers van that had no seats. Always have a good laugh with that one
