George J. Marcinek, 92
George J. Marcinek, aged 92, passed away suddenly on January 24, 2023, after a brief illness.
Born in 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, his family moved to Staten Island in the Great Depression to find work, living in MAriner’s Harbor and then Westerleigh. George was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War in their radar unit.
George had a range of jobs over the years, including plant/factory work at Wallerstein Company and GAF; sales for Sears, Staten Island Appliance, and Rucci Oil Co., manufacturing at Bushnell’s Country Kitchens; and administrative work at the NYS DMV, retiring in 1992. He worked hard, always getting the family through lean times, putting a roof over the family’s heads and food on the table.
George is survived by his loving sons, George Jr. (Joni) of Monroe Township NJ; Thomas (Maria) of Tom’s River NJ, and David (Veronica) of Port Richmond, as well as grandsons Thomas DeMarco and Paul Cellamare (Shannon) and granddaughter Justine, and a great-grandson, Leo.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rosemary, who passed away in January 2021, as well as his parents John and Emma, and siblings Helen (Pulgliese), Edith (Raffone), Emma, and John (Lillian), as well as his daughter, Marylynn (Cellamare), and grandson Kenneth Lakeman.
George enjoyed bible study and Christian fellowship, as well as watching classic movies, boxing, and college football. He always liked a nice quality cologne, a perfectly grilled steak and onions, and a good cup of coffee. He will always be much loved.

I love you Dad! You and Mom brought me into this world on January 24th 1959, and the Lord brought you into glory in Heaven on the very same day! The Lord has truly blessed me in that this day is now a holy day, and will be an important part of my life during my remaining time on earth, until we meet again. I miss you Mom too! You and Dad are now together in heaven and I love you both with all my heart!

Thank you for giving to us your all. Thank you for being you, and raising us well. We all will miss you sorely.
