You have been the best father I could ever wish for, and I feel truly blessed to call you my dad. Your love, strength, and selflessness shaped who I am, and I will carry your legacy with me always. You live on in my heart, and I promise to continue making you proud. My heart aches with how much I miss you already—the little things like our car rides, relaxing by the pool, and the breakfast sandwiches you’d bring me. Your kindness and quiet strength will stay with me forever. Thank you for giving me a beautiful life. I know this isn’t goodbye forever—we’ll see each other again, and I can’t wait for the day I get to hug you once more.

  5. I could just see us all on Garfield playing stick ball when we all were young teenagers. I could remember so vividly that very akward swing that you had. I remember you were one of the fastest in our click. I remember those memories from so many years ago as if they were yesterday and yet here I find myself having to say bye to you. Rest in peace my brother and give my regards to Gilbert, Harry and Billy.

  6. My deepest condolences to the family and friends.
My name is Lucy I lived in 83 Garfield Place. The best block ever. What great friends were made on that block. Friends that still keep in touch somehow or someway.
Memories are what stays in your heart and mind. I will never forget the memories we all shared on Garfiel Place.
    Rest in Peace Alvin

  9. My deepest sympathies and condolences to your family and friends. Alvin and i haven’t seen each other for many years but i remember the good times we had when we were kids. Playing stick ball, basketball, football and many other games that today’s kids have never heard of. Some times, we would stay out late, just shooting the breeze or playing a night game. I miss those days but i miss my friend more. Alvin will be missed by all those who knew him but he will never be forgotten.

“During This time of sorrow, but I can only remember the happy times we had together how bless it was to have a brother like you you always look out for me and I also for you brother I love you and am so grateful for the time together.” It’s going to be hard to imagine life without you.” I can still hear your voice over the phone BONES GYM, then I will say time and you will respond 11:00 AM it’s going to be lonely at the gym, well I’m in peace because I know where you are now in heaven.
“God has given us peace in our pain. He covers us all the time. Evan when we are out of control, he is still there.”

Now you get to see the sisters, Matilde and Herminia and all the others before and after them. My love always to the family.

  14. Mr. Rodriguez, you brought light into the lives of everyone who met you. Your kindness and joy were truly contagious. I will always be grateful for how warmly you welcomed me when we first met.

I will never forget the car rides we took together as a family from Staten Island to Long Island City, and all the funny moments I still remind Lianna about from those trips.

You always put your family first and set a powerful example of what it means to be a devoted father and husband.

You leave behind a wonderful family who will carry on your legacy and make you proud.

I love Lianna deeply, and I promise to take care of her and protect her. I will carry your example with me as I strive to be the kind of husband and father you were loving, strong, and selfless.

    To my dearest Tio Alvin,
I miss you more than words will ever be able to express. Some days, I catch myself rereading your old text messages, just to letting you know I was there.

It still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone. My heart aches, but I find comfort knowing you’re no longer in pain, no longer suffering. You’re up there now, with the Big Man, finally at peace. I imagine you smiling, cracking jokes, and living it up the way you always deserved to.

You earned your wings the day you left us, and now you’re free—free to fly, free to rest, free from all the hurt this world threw your way. We love you deeply, and we miss you more than you could ever know. Your presence will forever live on in our hearts.

Until we meet again, Tio Alvin. I hope you’re watching over us with that same grin that always made everything feel okay.

    Love always,
    Your Niece ❤️

I miss you, Pop. This pain is unbearable. You were my heart, and now it feels shattered beyond repair. Life is so unfair and cruel—you didn’t deserve this. Our family feels broken without you.

Thank you for giving me a beautiful life and for being such a wonderful dad. I’m so grateful for you, and I’m glad I got the chance to show you just how much you meant to me. Thank you for being a loving husband to Mom and showing me what a real partner should be like.
You live in my heart forever.
