Maureen Ann Noone

Maureen Ann Noone, a lifelong Staten Islander, passed away on February 18, 2024. Born on September 5, 1964, she was the daughter of Rita and Charles Styles.

After graduating from St. Peter’s High School in 1982, Maureen earned an associate degree at SUNY Brockport and later received her nursing degree from St. Vincent’s Nursing School. In 1994, she married John Noone, and together they had two sons: John and Michael Noone.

Throughout a significant part of her professional journey, Maureen specialized in peritoneal dialysis and earned multiple certifications in the field. She stood among the pioneering nurses in Staten Island who focused on this area. In her later years, Maureen served as a school nurse for the NYC Department of Education, eventually retiring in 2018.

Maureen’s life centered on her family. She rarely missed her sons’ sporting events and played a crucial role as the primary caregiver for her aging parents. Her compassion extended beyond her family circle. As a nurse, she deeply cared for her patients, including the school children during her tenure as a school nurse. Animals held a special place in her heart; she diligently cared for the family pets, and many a stray found a welcoming home at the Noone residence. Maureen consistently prioritized others over herself.

In addition to her professional and caregiving roles, Maureen enjoyed cooking and family vacations, especially annual trips to Sea Isle City, NJ. She was a sports fan and, in her younger years, an avid swimmer and skier.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Rita and Charles Styles. She is survived by her husband, John Noone, and her sons, John and Michael. She is also survived by her twin sister, Paula Styles Dorman, as well as sisters Rita Moreau, Patricia Downing and Kathy Francis, and brothers Charles and Michael Styles.
