Sharon DeGeorge (nee Mooney) of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Staten Island University Hospital at the age of 77.
Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Sharon married the love of her life, the late Paul DeGeorge and raised 3 wonderful sons.
She worked in the Reality industry for many years including a Law Firm. According to her son, Bruce, “Mom was a very strong and independent lady”. She enjoyed dancing, music of all kinds but mostly, 70’s & 80s. She liked to travel to Atlantic City and was an avid cook, especially when it came to her “Sweet Lasagna”, which all her family enjoyed. She loved being with and spoiling all her grandchildren but her true enjoyment was being around her family and extended family members.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Paul DeGeorge, who passed away in 2003.
She is survived by her loving sons, Bruce DeGeorge, Todd DeGeorge and Michael (Dawn) DeGeorge. Her beloved siblings, Dennis (Linda) Mooney, Corinne Edwards, Kathy (Tony) Bisignano, Susie (Brian) Ballantine, Deborah Mooney, Steven Mooney and John (Nancy) Mooney. Her adored grandchildren, Dana, Krista, Alexa, Amanda, Melissa, Brianna, Julianna, Vincent, Todd, Angela, Jada and Angelina. As well as her cherished great grandchildren, Ella and Evan and her extended family and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Avenue. Funeral mass will be on Monday, July 18, 2022, 10:00am at Blessed Sacrament Church, followed by a burial at Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 5pm – 9pm.

RIP my dear cousin. Thank you for watching me when I was a little boy at the Ranch and the great memories I’ll never forget. I will always remember you fondly from those innocent days at Jefferson and Hamden.
