  1. I met Rick three years ago when I returned to the cycling hobby and started spending time a lot of time at Bennett’s Bicycles. We weren’t super close so to speak but I literally saw him several times a week when visiting the shop.

I’m going to miss Rick’s craft as a very fine builder spoke wheels, whether for bicycles or motorcycles. He knew I sincerely appreciated his amazing skill and I’m going to miss how he would be proud to share a custom built pair of wheels with me he recently built when I would enter the shop.

I’m glad he made the effort to go to a concert recently with me and our friend George Bennett, after a recent surgery which had a tough recovery. Rick had a sharp wit, sense of humor, laughter and skill and pride at being a mechanic.

I’m really going to miss working along side him on Sundays, during the summer, at the shop.

I’m grateful having got to know him a little and that I took the time to let him know that I appreciated him.

Thanks Rick for touching my soul with your wit, skills and honesty.
I’m going to miss you a lot!
