Michael J Curren , 67, of Westerleigh passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018. A lifelong Staten Islander, Michael was born and raised in Mariners Harbor. He graduated from Port Richmond H.S. in 1969. Michael worked for Verizon for over 30 years, first as an installer and later in company services before his retirement. He loved all kinds of fishing and was an avid reader. He enjoyed reading about history, particularly WWII. His life was about children and grand children for which he was so proud of and cherished unconditionally.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly (nee Heycock), his loving children Evan (Kate) and Timothy Curren, Amy Goldfarb (Adam). A sister Dorothy Monteleone (Carmine) and his adoring grandchildren Aeryn and Rennon. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at, Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 2 – 4p.m. and 7 – 9p.m with a service at 8:00pm.

    Our deepest condolences to the Curren Family.

    Though it has been many years since I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Curren, I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. My memory of Evan’s dad was that he always very kind and full of laughter.

    May he rest in Peace.
