Irene Rutchey , 88 years old. Passed away on Dec. 21, 2017 at Richmond University Medical Center of a heart attack.

Born on Egbert Avenue in Westerleigh to Madeline & John Rutchey. Beloved sister of the late Marie Tidabuck, Emme Mahlmann & brother Raymond Rutchey.

Also her late husband Joseph Iommi Sr. who she was married to for over 20 years and later divorced. She was mother to three children, the late Paul Iommi, her beloved son Joseph Jr.

and daughter Irene Iommi. Also survived by her two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Irene attended Curtis High School and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank, along with various

Insurance companies and the New York Stock Exchange,  all before her marriage,  and then became a homemaker and later in life worked as a Health Care Aide.  She followed her mother into the

Order of the Eastern Star in 1966 and was a member for over 20 years. She also joined the Royal Order of the Amaranth and was past Royal Matron in 1975  and 1976. ( Rebecca Chapter # 214).

Also a member of the White Shrine. She loved traveling and took many trips around the United States. She especially enjoyed Pennsylvania, Lake George , Nashville, Florida , Canada , Vermont

and many other destinations. She loved reading novels and Readers Digest magazine. She loved music especially Country and Classical. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and

baptized there. Later to be a member of Olivet  Church. Irene lived in West Brighton for the last 20 years in the Joseph House before spending the last two years in Clove Lakes Healthcare Center.

The last three months of her life she resided at Silver Lake Nursing Home. \” Irene was a great spirit who had a lot of love and was fun to be around \” says her son Joseph, and she will be surely

missed.
