Hilda M. Tatar (nee Semmling), 93, passed away on Jan. 21, 2017.

Born in Hartford, Conn., Hilda moved to Staten Island, where she graduated from Port Richmond High School and became a machine operator for a cosmetics company. She enjoyed shopping and baking, and Hilda truly loved to host holiday gatherings with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel; her son, Robert G., and her grandson, Paul G. Tatar.

She is survived by her loving children, Paul A. and AnnMarie Tatar, Stephen J. Tatar, Barbara and Noel Mella, and was the beloved grandmother of Steven M., Michael V., Christopher N., Juliann C. and Patrick R.; devoted great-grandmother of Olivia and Madison.

Funeral will be at Cherubini-McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Ave. (formerly Meislohn- Silvie). Funeral Mass is Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 1030 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua, followed by a burial at St. Peter\’s Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
