Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home – A Tradition of Compassion Since 1938
The legacy of Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home began in 1938 with the founding of Silvie Funeral Home, a trusted name in funeral service on Staten Island. In 1975, Kenneth A. Decker purchased the funeral home from Jack Melde, continuing its mission of care and dignity. At that time, the funeral directors included Raymond Donadio, Herbert Smith III, and Jack Keenan.
In 1981, Mr. Decker expanded his service to the community by acquiring Meislohn Funeral Home from corporate ownership. In 1989, he merged the two businesses, creating the Meislohn-Silvie Funeral Home.
By 1992, the funeral home was managed by Herbert Smith III, with funeral directors Jack Keenan and Robert Cherubini serving local families. In 1996, Mr. Decker sold the business to Mr. Smith. Following Mr. Smith’s passing, his family continued to operate the funeral home until 2014, when Robert Cherubini and his family purchased the business.
In 2015, the funeral home entered a new chapter, as Robert renamed it Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, honoring its legacy while embracing its future.
Today, Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home remains family-owned and operated, with a dedicated team of experienced professionals. The current team of funeral directors alongside Robert are:

Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, formerly Meislohn Silvie Funeral Home, is owned by Robert Cherubini, a 26-year veteran funeral director who has dedicated his life to helping people in their time of need.
