Mary S. Tanachion, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born Mary Sheila Walsh in Staten Island, New York, on September 8, 1938, Mary devoted her life to her family and to the people she loved. On September 19, 1959, she married the love of her life, Frederick John Tanachion Sr. Together, they shared nearly six decades of marriage until Frederick’s passing in 2018.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Fred and Elizabeth; her six grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren. She took great pride and joy in her family, and the love she gave to each generation will remain a lasting part of her family’s lives.
Mary’s gentle spirit, warmth, and devotion to those closest to her will be deeply missed. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.
She will be remembered fondly by family and friends for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.
