Miriam Rivera, 68, of Todt Hill, Staten Island, passed away on Aug 12, 2026. Born Feb 13, 1958 in Manhattan, Miriam’s family moved to Mariners Harbor in 1969 where Mimi attended P.S 44, JHS 51 and graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1977. Mimi loved dancing, her Latin music and was proud of her Puerto Rican culture. Mimi is beloved by all friends she encountered over the years especially for her infectious laughter and generosity to those who may have come into hard times.
Mimi is predeceased by her parents, Ada and John Rivera and her sister, Brenda (Rivera) Hall. She is survived by daughters Catina and Nicole and her son, Brenden. She has one grandson, Justin and two granddaughters, Shania and Amaya. Mimi was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and a loyal friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A one-day viewing on Aug 15 from 3-7pm will be held at the Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Ave, SI NY 10302.

To the family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mother. Miriam was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many people. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire us all. Miriam and I have been friends since the age of 13.
The strength, faith, perseverance, and tenacity, that she displayed throughout all of her trials and tribulations was a testimony to many. May you find strength and solace in the memories that you share together.

We are certainly grieving the loss of my mom, but we do not grieve without hope. Her life was a testimony of strength, perseverance, and faith through so many trials.
Although our hearts are broken because we will miss her, we have the assurance that she is with the Lord. And because of our hope in Christ, we know that death is not the end. We will see her again.
Thank you for remembering our mom, and sharing this scripture with us. ❤️
Sissy I will miss you I thank you for preparing me for this sad time and we shared so much the bad times good times and the in between for all of that it made us unique. I will miss your smile I will remember or times in Miami the banana boat and so on. I am so glad you were able to find peace with everything that was important. So now you Sleep In Peace.
