Gertrude Fox

November 16, 1935 ~ July 23, 2026

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Cousin and Friend, Gertrude Josephine Fox, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23rd, with her family at her side.  She was 90.

Born and raised in Travis, Trudy Racinski attended P.S. 26 and Port Richmond HS.  She married her beloved Royal in 1957, a union that produced 5 children, Eugene (Lisa) Fox, Thomas (Kelly) Fox, Gregory (Barbara) Koerner-Fox, Laura (Vincent) DiStefano and Kathleen (Larry) McBride.  Her family was her passion, and grew to include 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous grand-dogs.

“Mother” was her calling, but she also worked for a time at Chase Bank on Pine Street in Manhattan, as well as Fashion Barn and Modern Woman on Forest Ave. She was active in the Holy Family community.  Trudy and Roy loved to garden, and were members of the Staten Island Orchid Society.  Winters were spent enjoying the holidays, and praying for snow.  Summers were spent on family camping adventures, a week at the beach, and enjoying sunsets at the lake.  She enjoyed ceramics, playing card games, and will be remembered for the cherished scarves, sweaters, blankets, hats, mittens, etc she knit for family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, July 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family R.C. Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
