Stanley Streczyk

July 16, 1953 ~ June 10, 2026

Stanley T. Streczyk, 72, of Slate Hill, New York, passed away on June 10, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center. He was born on July 16, 1953, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to the late Philip Streczyk and Sophie Karanewsky. He was known by his nickname “Stash,” which he described in his own words as “also known as Stash — not like you would hide things, but the Polish way, ‘Stash.’”

Stanley proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Throughout his life, he worked in a variety of hands-on trades and was self-employed for many years as a contractor. He was a skilled man who could build, repair, and fix just about anything. Even in retirement, he remained proud of all he had accomplished and often shared stories about his work, business experiences, and the many projects that reflected his talent and abilities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved companion, Suzanne Schmick; his sister, Maryann “Pinky” Pawlak; and four of his children, Rose Streczyk, Dawn Streczyk, Philip Streczyk and Mark Streczyk.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Welsh and Astasha De Beer; his siblings, Phyllis Scheuermann and Ronald Streczyk; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Stanley will be remembered for his charm, humor, and the way he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His stories, his presence, his love for his family and the memories he created will continue to live on with those who knew and loved him.
