Peter D. Colon
It is with great love and sadness that we share the passing of Peter Daniel Colon, 58, who left us on August 13th, 2025.
Born on August 28th, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York to Peter & Rosemarie Colon, Peter lived a life full of laughter. He was known for his generosity and sense of humor, and had a way of bringing light to any room he was in.
Over the years, Peter found joy in spending time with his family, cooking for his loved ones, and relaxing on the beach. He loved cooking his famous rice balls and entertaining those around him with his infectious personality.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his two children, Peter and Olivia, and their mother, Joanna; his parents, Rosemarie and Peter Colon; his brothers, Michael (Tricia) Colon, John (Linda) Colon, and James (Liezl) Colon, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on August 17th, 2025 from 4-8pm at Cherubini-McInerney Funeral Home at 1289 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories. Peter Colon Was A Wonderful Man. I Had The Privilege of Working Closely With Him For The Last Six Months of His [Too Short] Life. He Was Always Friendly, Supportive, Energetic, Funny, Classy & Intelligent. There Was A Great Feeling of Camaraderie Between Us. He Always Praised My Work, Gave Me Extra Hours If Needed To Finish The Job & Even Helped To Honor Me With ”Associate of the Month”. His Warm Presence Will Be Greatly Missed Both Personally & Professionally. To His Family, Treasure Your Memories, Honor The Traditions He Set Down [Especially During The Holiday Season] & Reach Out To Him in Prayer Sessions, Both Letting Him Know You Miss Him & Asking Him To Guide You Through This Life. We Will Be Reunited With Him in The Kingdom of Heaven, Someday. Until Then Honor Him & Keep His Memory Alive Here on Earth. Thanks For Everything Peter, Until I See You in The Next Life, God Bless, Your Friend, Tommy Cianci. Stop And Shop Store #2513.

My condolences to his family and everyone who loved him. He was a great manager, I am so grateful to have met him, his kindness to hire me has had a beautiful butterfly effect on my life and has led me to where I am today. He was always smiling and laughing, every story I’ve ever heard about him has been positive, I know he was a light in a very gloomy place for a lot of people. Thank you for everything Peter. Your memory will live on. Rest peacefully.
I first met you as a teenager in cropsey avenue pathmark. You were the part time front end manager and I was a bookkeeper. You were always a barrel of laughs.
Then we met again in Ozone park. You were the ASM and I was still a bookkeeper. And you were still a barrel of laughs.
Thank you Peter for the memories. God needed another angel.

What a tragic loss! You were truly one of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with at Pathmark.
I’ll never forget the perpetual smile on your face that lit up the room.
The cocktails always tasted better with you, the laughs were always louder with you and the time shared with you was never enough!
Until we meet again Peter, Rest In Peace Pal!
I’m heartbroken about his passing. Over the last few years working at stop and shop he’s been my favorite and go-to manager. This past year we have gotten a lot closer. We talked about our families and hobbies, the conversation was not always about work, which is something you don’t get to experience nowadays. The last conversation we had was about his kids and that he was so proud of him and I got lucky to enough to say goodbye in that conversation. He always complimented my work and my ethic and always made me feel appreciated, something I usually don’t get from other managers. It is because of him that I got associate of the month and I will always be grateful for that. Peter was my advocate. His generosity and his humor are two things I will miss most about him. Thanks for everything Peter. Until we meet again. Rest in peace
